The Mutineers of La Courtine

A film by Pierre Goetschel (52', 2015)

Synopsis

Told thanks to numerous unpublished documents, coming from official and private archives, " The Mutineers of La Courtine" reveals a little known episode of the First World War, that of the soldiers of the Russian Expeditionary Force engaged alongside the French, bulky victims of history who dared to rebel against the war order. A romantic epic at the heart of war as Russia frees itself from tsarism to move on to the Bolshevik revolution. Withdrawn from the front, grouped together at the La Courtine camp in Creuse, some of these soldiers welcomed as heroes died as mutineers.
