My Weekend at the mall

A film by Naruna Kaplan De Macedo (52', 2014)

Synopsis

The city of Limoges extends into the cosmopolitan district of Beaubreuil. At the heart of it, its shopping center. There are not only shops there : life is organized in these parts going from the library to the hypermarket, via the hairdresser, the bar / tobacco shop or even the simple bench. Intensity of Saturday, suspension of Sunday: we discover that much more than a place of commerce, the center is a playground, a place of connection. The film is punctuated by extracts from Annie Ernaux's story "Regarde les Lumières mon Amour" (Edition du Seuil). Her work and her questions reffered to what inhabited the film, and her words punctuate the images as a witness.
